For orders made through the WannaEat marketplace, your pickup procedure will differ from standard restaurant pickup flows. WannaEat connects independent chefs with customers, meaning you will be picking up orders from a residential address (the chef's home) and dropping them off at another residential address (the customer's home).
This unique model operates exclusively in New Jersey. Understanding the new pickup instructions are crucial for a smooth delivery.
The Pickup Flow: Residential Addresses
Because your pickup location is a private residence instead of a commercial kitchen, we have implemented special tips to help you locate the order.
- Review Location: Confirm you are approaching a private residence. Expect this to look like a home, not a restaurant or retail location. If you have difficulties locating the address you can call the chef to get assistance.
- Check Instructions: Carefully review the Pickup Instructions section in the driver app upon arrival
- Coordinate: Follow the instructions and pick up the order
- Validate: Confirm you have the correct order before leaving the residential address (e.g., matching name/order number)
The Delivery Flow: Residential Drop-off
Your drop-off procedure follows the same residential protocol as a standard delivery to a home.
- Navigate: Follow GPS and any customer instructions to the final residential address
- Complete Delivery: Follow the customer’s selected delivery method (e.g., Meet at Door, Leave at Door)
- Finalize: Ensure the delivery is placed securely and safely, and complete the process in your app (take a photo if required)
