What Is In-App Navigation?
We’ve partnered with Mapbox to bring turn by turn directions to the Grubhub app. You no longer need to switch back and forth between the Grubhub for Drivers app and Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze, and can instead get all of your navigation needs directly from within the Grubhub for Drivers app. New offers and other order details will now remain a tap away.
How is my route determined?
Once an order is placed, we capture the restaurant and customer addresses and Mapbox generates turn by turn instructions from whatever point you are currently at on the map. Many destinations will provide you with one or more alternate routes which you are free to select based on your needs. You also have route settings allowing you to avoid highways, tolls, ferries, and other regional based preferences. You can choose between car or bike friendly routes.
Can I change destinations?
No, your pick up and drop off points will always be prepopulated on your behalf, but you will have the means to select the route that best fits your delivery needs.
I would rather use my existing navigation
Not a problem! You can continue to use Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze as your preferred navigation provider. Just navigate to Account > App settings > Navigation preferences > and choose your preferred navigation provider.
Will this work with Android Auto and Apple Carplay?
Not yet! However our team is actively working on making this functionality available to you later in 2026.
