Grubhub relied on receiving a GPS signal from your Grubhub for Drivers app in order to connect with our platform. Below are some tips to help troubleshoot any app connectivity issues you may have.
Permissions and Settings
Make sure that the following permissions are enabled for the Grubhub for Drivers app
- Location Settings > Always
- Background App Refresh > On
- Cellular Data > On
DO NOT connect to Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is not set up to update your location as often as your GPS on your phone. It likely will lead to missing orders and often shows that you are out of network.
Make sure that Airplane mode is turned off. Airplane mode is designed to disable some of your phone’s hardware functions including all cellular connectivity meaning your device will stop communicating with cell towers. It may also disable GPS-receiving functionality, thereby disconnecting you to Grubhub for Drivers app.
Your plan may stop data access if you are talking on the phone or streaming apps. Check your plan to see if this applies to you.
Running multiple apps
It’s advised that for optimal performance you close all apps running in the background, specifically streaming and social media apps, while using the Grubhub for Drivers app, as to not overload your phone.
Issues that have been reported by other drivers
Below are some phone specific issues that have been reported by drivers across the country. To fix these you may need to go to an official store of your cell phone provider (NOT an 'Authorized Retailer') and ask them to help you troubleshoot this issue.
